One of the nice things about celebrating Hanukkah so early in the season is the distinct separation of holidays (with the exception of
Thanksgivukkah of course). We were able to focus all of our holiday attention reading Hanukkah books, talking about dreidels, menorahs and latkes. Right now, I think Asher just sees it as another holiday where he gets to open presents...but for us it was nice to have some separation between hanukkah and christmas. It was also nice that it fell around Thanksgiving because Sister and Jim were in town a couple of nights to celebrate with us!
Every night we lit both menorahs and said the blessing. Asher always shouted "Hanukkah" at the end of the blessing...immediately followed by "Open Pez-ent" or "Pezent Time". I left the ribbons and bows off the gifts this year, so Asher needed very little help digging into the paper. He was always very excited about what he was opening and we got him in the habit of saying "Thank You for my Pez-ents"

I think this LOUD Laser from Uncle Ricky was his FAVORITE Hanukkah present this year.
