There was no snuggling in bed this morning we wanted to go see what Santa brought! But first daddy and mommy needed to make some coffee. As you can see, Asher was not happy about waiting to go downstairs.
Once we made it downstairs, we quickly turned our frown upside down and started with Asher's stocking. Daddy helped him to get everything out! Lots of new guys for the bath and another Sandra boynton book!
After the stocking we moved over to the tree for the real fun! We pulled all of ashers presents out from under the tree, sat him in the middle of them and got the camera and video recorder ready! For the most part he just looked back and forth between the presents banging on each of the boxes.
The first present he opened was his musical activity table. He was just as content playing with it in the box as he was out of the box. We honestly could have opened presents all day because he was content just playing with his activity table and didn't even realize there were more gifts to be opened. If you want to see it first hand you can watch this video...its a little long, but he finally gets to opening his first present about half way through the video.
Asher needed help opening the presents but was happy to hear the sounds and see all the lights. Of course almost everything that he got makes some sort of sound or lights up...but in most cases BOTH! (Nick and I now sing these silly songs throughout the day...and end up with them stuck in our heads) We continued on through out the morning opening presents, playing with presents, and opening more presents.
One of my favorite moments was when we opened his basketball toy and much to his surprise (and our surprise too) he was able to push the balls through the hole and make it light up and make sounds! Later on that morning, he figured out how to actually get the ball from underneath, place it in the hole and then hit it! Of course with all these toys around he was easily distracted and you can see in part three of our Christmas morning video.
Here is one last video where you can see how we spent the rest of our Christmas morning, up until it was time for a much needed, well earned nap, before heading over to Mimi's house to celebrate Christmas and open more presents!
