Gulf Shores

We are so lucky to be able to take 2 beach trips this summer! Ever since Romano and Jenna moved to Gulf Shores we have talked about taking a trip. We didn't think it was going to happen this summer, but in the last month, it all just sort of came together.  We found a place, made sure the dates worked with Matt and Elaine and then a few short weeks later we were beach bound! At the last minute, Sister decided to join us too! This was a different beach trip from those that we are used to, because its usually just us, and we don't have friends around, especially friends that are local and know all the good spots!  Jenna and Kris took time off work while we were there, so our days were filled with fun in the sun, and our nights filled with great seafood, drinks and good times on the balcony.

The trip took us about 6 hours from door to door, complete with stops.  Asher was great in the car, especially since he had Mimi and Aunt Sara in the back seat to keep him entertained.

As soon as we got to the house, got settled in and made drinks, we headed to the beach while we waited for Uncle Matt to arrive.

Friday we woke up early (thanks to Asher) and watched the sun rise.  Sister and I went for a HOT run and then spent the entire day lounging, swimming, and and playing on the beach and in the ocean with our paddle boards!  Having Mimi on vacation allowed Nick and I too BOTH enjoy some Free time on the beach while Asher was napping, rather than taking turns.  Thanks Mimi!!

Friday night we went to Lulu's on the Marnia, where Kris and Jenna both work.  This was the perfect atmosphere for Asher.  Great food, live music, huge sand play areas and even water walkers!!

Saturday, we enjoyed the day at the pass!  Check out the blog post about one of our favorite days!

Sunday was more fun in the sun, swimming, digging sand holes and ALS ice bucket challenges, followed by fun times at "The Track", and Ashers first Go-Cart experience.

This is the water run-off from the outside shower at the house.  Asher said "Im a Pig, dis is my pig sty" and rolled around in the "mud".  I captured some other cute shots but due to frontal nudity I am leaving them off the blog.

I LOVE me some go-carts and I think Asher does too.  He was laughing most of the time,
and spent the rest of the time holding his hands over his ears because it was too loud.

Asher recognized the photo booth from the other night
and insisted that "Mommy, Daddy & Asher take silly pictures"
After dinner we went to Crazy Jacks for bloody marrys and oysters on the halfshell.  Crazy Jacks was on the opposite side of the marina and they also had a big sand area with lots of toys for the kids.  Jenna and Kris sure knew how to pic restaurants that would allow mommy and daddy to still have fun all while Asher was entertained.

Monday morning we woke up, got in a quick beach workout, packed up the car and headed home.  Just as quickly as the trip came together it was over.  But so much fun.  I cant believe I will have to wait till 2015 before being back at the beach.  We belong at the beach...WE ARE BEACH PEOPLE...and I can guarantee you that the Freemans WILL live at the beach one day!

Look who fell asleep for over an hour on the way home!
