We have seen so many changes in Asher these past two weeks, it's like he has really become so much more independent and grown up.
He is Siting all by himself and able to entertain himself with a toy or two in front of him for short periods of time.
But we cant take our eyes off of him because he is reaching and grabbing for everything. Especially food and drinks. If daddy and I are eating it... He wants it. Actually if it's within his reach he wants it. Amazing to see this new discovered hand eye coordination that he has developed. He is always grabbing at our faces and loves his poppys lips, but the most heart-melting thing to see is when he reaches and pets his Linus puppy, which happens multiple times a day now.
He is so vocal. He talks and sings and makes sounds all day long. He loves to just talk and talk to all of his little friends. His favorites are blue bird on the car seat, the animals on his mobile, the stuffed animals in his room, the monkeys on his wall, Linus, mommy and daddy. It's is so neat to listen to the sound he makes when he discovers new things or sees something that he likes. He has his own little language and communication with his "friends" and we love the sound of his little voice.
He learned how to cough and now coughs in order to get attention. It's a cute little cough and we figure it's better than screaming for attention.
Bathtime is so much fun. We had to move his baby tub off of the counter and into the big bathtub. He kicks and splashes, reaches for the water as we pour it over him and is puzzled as to why he can't grab it and hold it.
It's been two weeks since we started him on oatmeal and pureed baby food every night. He has become quite skilled at eating without covering himself in food. We are even starting to work on some baby sign language when we eat. We are teaching him eat, more and all done. It will be incredible if he picks up on it and can sign before he talks...
He has been sleeping great too, for naps and at night. Who knows if it's the food, all his new skills, or what exactly the culprit is, but we are not complaining. He goes down to sleep with great ease, wakes up 1 time between 2-4 to eat and then right back to bed (in his crib) till 7-8.
The past two weeks have been weeks of incredible growth and constant amazement for mommy and daddy. We love watching our boy grow and are having so much fun with our happy little man. It's so hard to believe he is almost six month old.
